Pulse – Destiny Mata & Kurt Boone
Pulse – Destiny Mata & Kurt Boone
Pulse is a collaboration by New York photographers Destiny Mata and Kurt Boone. Printed and produced by Irrelevant Press in 2025, the Risograph photobook explores and celebrates DIY music in the city. Kurt focuses his lenses on musicians in the street – from buskers to DJs at community events. Destiny has captured the local punk scene for many years, creating a substantial archive of ephemeral bands, underground performances, and iconic DIY venues. In Pulse, the two artists converse through photographs that mirror each other and capture the brightness and energy of New York City.
